Neston Riverside WI Newsletter February 2024

Dear Members,
I hope everyone’s recovered from our January talk which was full of good advice and warnings, a lot to think about in our modern world.
Our meeting this month sees the return of Mike Pill with another set of inspirational photographs, a very talented man.
Sue will be running our sales table so please have a search around for anything you can bring.
Andrea and Adrienne will be running the raffle, thank you to both of them.
Brenda and Marie are this month’s tea ladies and Sue and Dianne have signed up for March. We’ll be looking for more volunteers for the coming months, everything is supplied all that’s required is serving the drinks and washing up afterwards.
I have booked us in at ‘Glass Deva’ near the Storyhouse in Chester to do a fused glass workshop so for the princely sum of £20 we can spend two hours learning a new skill and making a decorative panel. We are booked in on Monday 25th March at 2 o’clock so plenty of time to have lunch first if you choose. Places are limited and we will need to pay cash to keep things simple.
The South Wirral Group outing to the Arboretum is on Thursday 2nd May. The entry to the grounds is free so we are only paying for the coach cost £14, again places are limited.
Some members wanted to go on the Ghost Tour organised by the Federation but weren’t allocated tickets. We are looking into running our own which sounds like good fun.
Storyhouse Behind the Scenes Tour is being planned for 10th June. Places are limited.
Next month will be a social meeting and the committee have some ideas. We would however be grateful for any contributions from members so have a think.
