Dear Members,
Hope you all have your pumpkin recipes ready. Whatever happened to the simple duck apples? The good old days.
I am pleased to say that some members have come forward to join our committee or to take on a role but there’s still room for more so please give it some thought. It’s always more fun if we work together.
Our September meeting was really memorable, we had seven visitors and were all treated to a fascinating and moving talk about ‘Hearing Dogs for the Deaf.’ Even I fell in love with Ruby the beautiful black Labrador.
The Federation annual meeting at the Storyhouse followed a new format, there was no official business just three inspiring women speakers. It was really worth the day out and left us with a lot of food for thought.
A big thank you again for your outstanding contribution to the food bank. It is gratefully received and appreciated. Please continue to support our sales table in any way you can as this too is for the food bank. Andrea has kindly offered to deliver this month’s food. Thank you.
South Wirral Group. There are two tickets left if anyone wants to join us. It should be a good afternoon. We will be entertained by ‘The Port Sunlight Sea Dogs’ from 2:00 to 4:00 on Friday October 20th.
Christmas Markets. It has proved surprisingly difficult to book to eat together we therefore propose meeting in the cathedral refectory for coffee and take it from there. The 9.30 bus from Brook Street would be a good way to meet up and travel together if you wish.
Empire Afternoon. The performance starts at 2.30 so we can meet there or if you’d like to have lunch first we propose catching the 10.30 bus from Brook Street and dining together.
Remembrance. We have traditionally taken part in our Neston event and laid a wreath. It is always well supported by members and a worthwhile contribution. We meet at the Royal British Legion and the parade begins at 2.35 for the church service at 3pm. Please support us if you can.
