May Newsletter

Dear Members,
The very sad and shocking news about Gill has cast a cloud this month for all of us. We will miss her in ways we cannot yet imagine.
In the last few days, we have also heard about the very sad death of Jan Harvey after her long battle with cancer. We have sent our condolences to her family on behalf of us all.
Thinking of easier things, our April meeting was fun and gave us a real insight into the Guide Dogs for the Blind organisation and the interesting and varied life of the speaker. It was good too that it was well attended.
Our May meeting is our Jubilee event with lots planned. Please wear red, white and blue if you can and we would like you to bring a photograph/s of yourself from a decade during her reign. I had quite a trip down memory lane searching for mine. There will be no sales table or raffle on this occasion.
Birthday Dinner…we will need menu choices and payment at the June meeting. ( £19.95 for two courses and £22.95 for three.)
Village Fete…we are raffling a wine and chocolate hamper on the day and would be grateful for any contributions from members.
Thank you to everyone for paying their subs so promptly. We now have 31 members.
