December 23 Newsletter
08/12/2023
Dear Members,
Our final meeting of 2023 is upon us, hard to believe. In amongst shopping, wrapping, tree decorating etc we’ve found time to plan a Christmas party and are looking forward to seeing you all.
Our annual meeting was mercifully brief and we are lucky to have Judith and Sue as new committee members. Thank you to them both for stepping forward to help. Our quiz, courtesy of Sue Kendall was fun and I am still impressed by Barbara’s knowledge of ‘Eldorado’, a real blast from the past.
We will have our foodbank collection at our December meeting but not a sales table this time. Our contribution to the food charity is very much appreciated and you have all been generous every month. Thank you.
Jennifer has kindly offered to deliver this month’s food. Thank you.
The gathering at Chester Christmas Markets seemed to be enjoyed by everyone even though it was so cold. I gather some members got a bit carried away with their purchases, no names.
Philippa has kindly and efficiently sent out flyers explaining various opportunities planned by the Federation. There will be boards to sign up for these at the December meeting.
We have been invited to join Ness and Little Neston WI for a night at the pantomime. ‘Sleeping Beauty’ will be on Friday 12th January at The Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight. The cost is £9 which needs to be paid in cash when you sign up at our meeting, sounds like a fun event.
Dates for your diary
December 13th our Christmas party
December 15th South Wirral Group at Gladstone Village Hall.
Book Group….. Monday 8th January at Janice’s home
Creative Writing…. Monday 15th January at Sue A’s home
Diners…Tuesday 23rd January venue to be arranged.
Rhapsodists…Short rest after Christmas singing
Poetry and Prose January 4th at Pauline Pollard’s house.
Looking forward to seeing everyone sparkling and ready for a mince pie.
Best Wishes Pauline
